The Trade Engine
One account trades. The others follow it, each at its own multiplier, in milliseconds.
What You Need
- A Trade Engine plan. Journaling plans do not include copying.
- At least two connected cTrader accounts — one source, one follower.
- Both accounts authorised through cTrader, as in the connection guide.
Creating a Link
- 1Open the Trade Engine page.
- 2Pick the master account — the one whose fills are copied.
- 3Pick the follower account — the one that receives them.
- 4Set the multiplier. 1.0 copies the same size; 0.5 halves it; 2.0 doubles it.
- 5Save. The link goes live immediately for new fills.
A follower can follow only what happens next
Copying starts from the moment a link exists. Positions already open on the source are not reproduced, because entering them now would be entering at a price nobody chose.
How Sizing Works
The follower’s volume is the source’s volume times the multiplier, rounded to what the destination broker accepts. Because the two accounts may be different sizes, the multiplier is the lever that makes a shared source sensible: a $5,000 account following a $50,000 one runs at 0.1.
Execution priceEach account fills at its own broker’s price. Copying is not a guarantee of an identical fill.
SymbolsMatched by name between brokers, with a mapping for pairs that list the same instrument differently.
ClosesA close on the source closes the copied position on its followers.
Reliability
- Every deal is claimed in the database before it is acted on, so the same fill is never copied twice.
- A deploy hands the engine over to the incoming worker only once that worker is connected and ready, and the outgoing one finishes what it holds.
- Health is reported continuously, so a stalled connection is visible rather than silent.
Risk
Copying multiplies exposure as readily as it multiplies profit. A multiplier is a position-sizing decision, not a convenience setting, and the destination account carries every consequence of the source’s trading. Read the risk disclosure before you link an account you cannot afford to lose money on.
